The School of Computing and Data Science was delighted to welcome the first cohort of MSc(CompSc) AI & Decentralized Technologies (AIDT) stream students at the High Table Dinner held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at The University Galleria, Building 5, HKU Zhangjiang Base, Shanghai.

The evening brought together students, faculty members, distinguished guests, alumni, and industry partners for a warm and memorable celebration marking the start of the students' academic journey with the school.

We were honored to be joined by Prof. Yi Ma, Director of the School of Computing and Data Science; Mr. Francois Lee, President of the Hong Kong & Shanghai Data Society; and Prof. S.M. Yiu, Master Programme Director. Their encouraging remarks set a meaningful tone for the night.

Over dinner, students had the chance to connect with one another, engage with faculty, and exchange stories with alumni and industry partners, building relationships that extend well beyond the classroom.

As the first High Table Dinner for the inaugural AIDT cohort, the event was not only a celebration of new beginnings but also an opportunity to strengthen the sense of connection and community among students and the school.
